DRIVER

CAST, A Non-Governmental Organization based in Kilifi Town, is currently looking to recruit a qualified and proactive driver to join its team.

                       

Job Type: 6 months contract full time

Location: Kilifi

 

Minimum requirements include:

  • Valid class B2 driving licence and have been a regular driver in a busy organization for at least 5 years

  • Strong confidence driving manual transmission vehicles

  • Valid tuktuk driving licence of not less than 2 years

  • Ability and willingness to support logistics duties as needed

  • Between 25 and 50 years of age

  • To have at least KCSE Grade D certificate of Education

  • Able to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated and reliable

  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when required

  • To have good communication skills in English and Kiswahili and strong interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with NGO sector will be an added advantage

  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and mechanical problems will be an added advantage

 

The job involves:

  • Taking staff to and from assigned destinations in time and safely

  • Ensuring that the organization vehicles are always in good working conditions and reporting any sign of problem to the relevant officer

  • Maintain and regularly update the vehicle logbook, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Ensure all assignments allocated are done effectively and efficiently

  • Assist in the storage and movement of various types of stock and supplies as needed

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Antropology (preferable) or Social Science

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in Community Anthropologist research or similar position.

  • Experience in using the word and excel packages.

  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

  • Previous work with ONGs is consider a preferable asset. 

 

Safeguarding 

  • Maintain safe working environment for all staff/beneficiaries. 

  • Ensure risk mitigation measures are in place and adhered to. 

  • Ensure do-no-harm to children and vulnerable adult we meet.
